Cinnamon Dhonveli

This is a small and beautiful resort in the north Male atolls which offers exclusive access to the legendary Pasta Point, one of the most consistent surf breaks in the Maldives. Boats to other classic breaks such as Sultans, Honky’s and Jailbreak are available throughout the day and they also make morning and afternoon trips to Chickens and Colas (about 45 minutes away) when conditions are favourable.

Cinnamon Dhonveli accommodates up to 250 guests but the number of surfers is limited to just 30. Standard accommodation is in two-storey air-conditioned Garden Bungalows with a king size bed on the mezzanine level. On the ground level there’s a spacious sitting room with an extra bed (or day bed), and a separate bathroom. Facilities include tea/coffee making, a stocked mini-bar, satellite-cable TV, telephone, closets, writing table and chairs. Additional beds can be provided for family accommodation. Facing the lagoon, Beach Bungalows are beautifully finished with tropical timbers and textured walls. There’s a king-size bed and an open-air bathroom with shower and tub in a private tropical garden. Other luxuries include a divan/day bed, mini-bar, satellite-cable TV, telephone and air conditioning. The bungalows can accommodate another bed for family holidays if required. The Water Bungalows are built over the water inside the reef with views of the waves and the Pasta Point break just a short stroll away. They are all air-conditioned and fully equipped with a spa bath, minibar, tea/coffee making, TV, telephone, writing table, separate bathroom and a private sun deck. Cinnamon Dhonveli’s Over Water Suites have a wide outdoor deck with private sun lounges and steps down to the water. The bedroom has a king sized bed and en- suite bathroom with shower and personal spa bath.

Facilities at the resort include a spa, open-air restaurants, three bars (one overlooking Pasta Point), a swimming pool, billiards, tennis court, badminton, gym, a safe beach for children and a fully certified PADI Diving School. With a perfect white sand beach and plenty to do for non-surfing partners and children, it’s a great place to relax or holiday with the family.


Kandooma Island is located in the south Male atoll and is blessed with white sands, azure skies, lush tropical greenery and clear turquoise waters. It is only a 45 minute speedboat ride from the capital Male and has a high-quality right-hander surf break on the island.

Kandooma Resort is a stunning resort which boasts exceptional service and facilities. Perfect for couples, honeymooners and families, it always receives rave reviews from our clients. Accommodation options here include Beach View Villas which are semi-detached with large windows that positively invite the outdoors inside. They have light summer duvets, massive bath towels, flat screen televisions, a place to plug in your mp3/iPod, indoor out-door showers and Wi-Fi broadband. There are also 2-storey Beach Houses located at the water’s edge with bedrooms are on the first floor level which enjoy stunning views of the sea. The living area underneath the bedroom is furnished with designer seating laid out on a carpet of fine white sand. There are also 2-Bedroom Family Beach Houses ideal for families or a small group which are the size of two beach houses together. They offer sleeping space upstairs with living and dining areas below. Last but not least are the awesome Overwater Villas which hover above the marine life in clear shallow water. These villas all have private sundecks with hammocks that are partially submerged at high tide in crystal clear water. Their expansive living space is complemented by a large open bathroom which offers a private outdoor shower and bathtub with views of the water.

Kandooma Resort has 3 restaurants as well as a coffee lounge and the quality of the food is exceptional -orange juice in the morning is freshly squeezed; coffee (even in the rooms) is freshly ground; tea is loose leaf and bread and ice cream is home made. The standard package is bed and breakfast only but there are options to upgrade to dinner daily (half board), lunch and dinner (full board) and all-inclusive meal plans. Children under 12 eat for free when dining with adults at the Kandooma Cafe.

Facilities such as free wireless internet together with an internet lounge and library, a retail shop, laundry and pressing services, an on-site doctor, mailing and foreign exchange services are all available. There’s also an 80m free-flow swimming pool with a separate children’s pool and the Kandooma Kids Club which is free for children between the ages of 4 to 12. A spa and internationally accredited PADI dive centre are also on site.

Surfer numbers are limited to a maximum of 50 at Kandooma and the surfer package includes exclusive access to the wave on the island as well as twice daily boat transfers to other spots in the area such as Riptides, Foxey’s, Twinpeaks, Quarters, Tucky Joes, Last Stop and Kate’s. Surf guides and qualified surf instructors are based at the resort during the surf season.

Hudhuranfushi Resort

Hudhuranfushi is also located in the north Male atolls and is a firm favourite with surfing couples, honeymooners, families and surfers in general. There are not too many resorts in the world with a world-class wave within walking distance from your room. A maximum number of 45 surfers ensures you’ll get your fill of the famous Lohis left-hander which is widely regarded as amongst the best lefts in the Maldives. Boat trips to a multitude of other quality breaks in the area are also available as one of the 2 surf package options at this resort.

Accommodation options include Lohis Rooms and Beach Villas. The Lohis Rooms are a 1 minute walk away from the surf and have 1 double bed or 2 single beds with a TV, a mini bar, a wardrobe, a well-appointed bathroom and a small relaxation deck. The Beach Villas are spacious with timber front decks, polished cement flooring, TV, mini bar, bathtub and outdoor open air shower. They are close to the white sandy beach and lagoon making them an ideal choice for couples or families with non-surfers.

The Banyan Restaurant is the resort’s main restaurant where all-inclusive meals are available. There are 2 other restaurants and no less than 6 bars including the famous Lohis Bar which is situated at the south of the island directly overlooking the surf break. Other facilities include a swimming pool, water sports centre, scuba dive centre, tennis and squash court, gymnasium, day spa and a kids’ playground.
