Land Camps offer a great option for surfers wanting something different or for those who are traveling with partners and families. They offer a touch of luxury in the most remote areas with either a cooking wave on the doorstep or a variety of spots only a short boat ride away.

Macaronis Resort

Macaronis Resort offers an unforgettable experience with quality facilities and access to a variety of fun activities for the whole family. The resort is situated on the edge of picturesque Silabu lagoon, just across the bay from the world famous Macaronis wave. Tidal movement keeps the lagoon clean and cool to swim in and there are magnificent sunsets over the lagoon at the end of each day. The newly refurbished three-story resort features include a beautiful lagoon-style swimming pool and spa. In addition to the incredible surfing, guests can enjoy kayaking, paddle boarding, fishing, snorkelling and more right from the resort doorstep. It was refurbished in 2012 with exceptional attention to detail and luxury. The resort bar serving a variety of beers, Australian wines & mixed drinks plus snacks all day and restaurant with professional chefs serving 3 meals daily is located on the ground floor. This section of the resort is also the community hang-out area with indoor & outdoor seating, ping-pong table, billiards, and other games. The large pool area has several seating areas, beautiful views and sun loungers.

All of the guest suites are on the second floor, 8 metres above sea level with open veranda sea views. The suites are all air-conditioned and have en-suite bathrooms with hot water. There’s free in-room and a TV and DVD player which offers the unique Maccas Channel – a live surf cam of Macaronis!

Botik Resort

Botik Resort is in the northern area of the Mentawai Islands known as “Playgrounds”. It has been designed for a high comfort surfing holiday on a pristine private island with a maximum of 10 guests. Some of the best waves in the world are only a 5 to 20 minute speedboat ride away. The resort is located on the northern side of Botik Island and is situated right by the ocean making it a real beach surf resort. Accommodation is in 3 private traditional Mentawai style bungalows designed to sleep up to 4 guests. They are all air-conditioned and also have fans as well as 220v electrical outlets for charging devices. The bungalows feature Balinese teak furniture and all have spacious balconies with sofas to enjoy the stunning views of the pristine beach and gardens. There are also large living rooms in each bungalow and en-suite bathrooms.

The restaurant is situated directly on the beach and there’s a great chill out area with satellite TV and free Wi-Fi. There’s also a separate barbeque area.

WavePark

Established in 1998, this resort is located in the Northern Mentawai area and offers a world class wave on the island itself as well as access to at least 26 different waves in the vicinity. The resort has a maximum capacity of 12 surfers and offers accommodation in locally built, luxurious bungalows, a stone’s throw from the waters’ edge. Each bungalow can accommodate a family of 4 but wherever possible, they are used for only 2 guests at a time. They all have an indoor/outdoor bathroom with a double marble vanity, a couple’s shower with hot/cold water and a western-style toilet. Linen, mosquito nets and bath towels are provided for all guests. There is a bar and restaurant which overlooks the gardens to the beautiful beach and bay. A DVD player, TV, and surround sound speakers, iPod friendly connections, satellite telephone with international access, internet facilities for e-mail and online browsing, an international regulation size pool and ping-pong tables and a full-time resort photographer are also available to guests.
